At the summarizing press conference of the Silver Rose Ball, the first charity ball hosted by the Opera general director Szilveszter Ókovács announced: the Faust season serves as a background for the 2015 Faust Ball, a night of scientists and artists is to be organised on 14 February. Special guest stars of the event are Angela Gheorghiu, a star of the international world of opera, and Carlos Acosta, principal guest artist of The Royal Ballet.

The ball of sports personalities and artists was attended by 1200 guests on 1 March. Its mission was to create, represent and convey value; cherish and maintain a 130-year-old heritage; spread culture as part of our national heritage; popularise arts, while supporting charity purposes as well. This was recognised by eminent personalities of the business and commercial world, which resulted in quality partnerships to make the first charity ball of the Opera House a great success. From 25 partners, 8 sponsors, 10 prominent sponsors and 7 partners contributed to a sum of over 200 million HUF in sponsorship.

The special main programme, whose special guest stars included Vesselina Kasarova, was broadcast live on Duna Television, which was seen by 147 thousand viewers and was tuned into by 550 thousand viewers, a number worthy of a Christmas broadcast. The programme is to be shown again on TV later this year. The beneficiary of the ball was represented by Dr Béla Burány, general director of the Hungarian National Ambulance Emergency Service along with his wife Edit Kovács, who acted as patrons of the event to show that its charitable purpose was a prominent factor. The diamond ring worth 7700 euros offered by the Diamonds International Corporation ended up with Bea Trecskó, who offered it to the purchase of the ambulance. The Ambulance Emergency Service is going to auction it – details to follow soon on the official website of the Silver Rose Ball. Offers can be made until 1 February, 2015. The bidder of the hammer price is going to receive the ring and seats in a box of 4 at the 2015 ball. The Opera requests the Hungarian National Ambulance Emergency Service to use the proceeds raised through ticket sales for the purchase equipment for the ambulance.
