Viktor Massányi | Opera Singer

He was born in Uzhorod (Ukraine) in 1967, and completed his trumpet and music theory studies at the Secondary School of Music in his native city in 1986. He graduated as a singer and vocal teacher from the Debrecen Conservatoire of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 1995 as a student of Éva Mohos Nagy. He was a member of the Pécs National Theatre from 1994 to 1997 when he joined the Hungarian State Opera House as a soloist, and later permanent guest singer. He already sang main roles in his first season there, and has been especially successful in the Italian repertoire. He regularly appears at concerts both in Hungary and abroad. Major roles: Conte d'Almaviva (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro), Papageno (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte), Marcello (Puccini: La bohème), Sharpless (Puccini: Madama Butterfly), Figaro (Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia), Dandini (Rossini: La cenerentola), Rigoletto, Germont (Verdi: La Traviata
