Éva Bátori | Opera Singer
She studied at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music, and later at the opera studio of the Vienna Staatsoper. She joined the Leipzig Opera House in 1992, and the Cologne Opera in 1995. She has sung in Frankfurt, Hannover and other opera houses around Europe on many occasions. She appeared in a series of Mozart operas (Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte) created by the German Television. She sang the role of Micaela in Carmen at the Bregenz Festival, and Desdemona in Verdi's Otello in St. Margarethen, Austria. She has toured in Japan as a guest singer with the Vienna Staatsoper, the Wiener Mozart Orchester and the Hungarian State Opera House. The Peking Opera House was opened with the Vienna Staatsoper' performance of Le nozze di Figaro, in which she sang the role of the Countess with great success. She is a regular guest singer in the United States. She sang the role of Tosca and Minnie in La fanciulla del West in Seattle, and appeared in concerts in Philadelphia and the Avery Fisher Hall, New York several times.
