Csaba Szegedi | Opera Singer

He studied with Mária Fekete at Béla Bartók Conservatoire and with Sándor Sólyom-Nagy at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music as a singer and singing teacher. His teachers in the opera department of the Academy were Balázs Kovalik, Péter Oberfrank, Tamás Pál and Ádám Medveczky. He won second prizes at József Simándy National Singing Competition, Szeged in 2004 and 2008. He made his debut in József Katona Theatre, Kecskemént in the role of Kodály's János Háry. This spring he sang the roles of Miracle and Dappertutto in the abridged version of Offenbach's Les contes d'Hoffmann at the final examination performance at the Academy of Music. Since August 2008, he has been the youngest singer in the scholarship programme of the Hungarian State Opera House. Besides several minor roles he is to sing the role of Figaro in Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia
