Opera Orchestral Centre
The centre where the triple-sized orchestra of the Opera, the first and largest philharmonic ensemble in Hungary, rehearses for performances, galas and its own concerts, is located in Jókai Street near the Oktogon, not far from the Opera House.
The building, which used to function as the headquarters of a trade union, has been managed by our institution since 2004 and is currently undergoing refurbishment. According to the Opera Development Programme, in addition to the spacious János Ferencsik Hall in the building, the Sergio Failoni Chamber Hall will also be operated by the orchestra. The building houses the offices of the Orchestra and – according to further acquisition plans – rehearsal rooms of several hundreds of square metres will also be built on the premises.
