In 2005, he was a prize-winner at the International Franz Josef Reinl Composition Competition in Vienna. In 2010/2011 he was awarded a scholarship, sponsored by the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and Art, to attend the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris.
