Sonja Šarić, soprano, studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim, under tutelage of prof.Snežana Stamenković. She has participated in numerous national and international competitions where she won a number of awards, including the Maria Callas Grand Prix in Athens in 2017, then the Austrian “Musiktheaterpreis” in the category for young artists in 2019 for the role of Leonora in Verdi’s Il Trovatore.

The most recent prize came in 2021 at the 4th International singing Competition  ”Eva Marton” in Budapest, where Sonja won 1st Prize and Audience award.

Her repertoire includes Bellini's Norma (National Opera Belgrade); Senta in Wagner's "Der Fliegende Hollaänder" (Teatro Comunale di Bologna), Leonora in Verdi’s “Il Trovatore”(Oper Graz, NT Mannheim, LT Linz, HNK Zagreb), Aida (LT Linz, SNP Novi Sad), Countess in Mozart’s "Le nozze di Figaro" (Oper Graz, Bamberg), Madame Cortese in Rossini’s opera “Il viaggio a Reims” and Nedda in Leoncavallo’s opera “Pagliacci”( Oper Graz), Gerhilde in Wagner’s opera The Valkyrie (Opera national de Paris), Donizetti's Maria Stuarda (National Theater Ostrava).

Her concert repertoire includes songs by Schubert, Richard Strauss, and Mahler; Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Verdi’s Requiem, Brahms German Requiem, Rossini's Stabat Mater.

At the International Singing Competition for Dramatic Sopranos "Elizabeth Connell Prize" Sonja won the 2nd Prize and Audience award. During the studies, she received scholarships  of the Georg Solti Accademia, Opernwerkstatt Waiblingen and "Melanija Bugarinovic" fund for the improvement of vocal art.
