Mário Radačovský - Giacomo Rossini

Národni Divadlo Brno: Rossini

Ballet in one act

Rossini is an extract from Mário Radačovsky’s ballet Michelangelo that has been originally premiered at the Serbian National Ballet in Belgrade. The six male dancers’ bodies are sculptures or inspirations. To a certain extent, it is also a slight caricature of musculature as such, of ideas and ideals. It is about fantasy and reality at the same time since it is purely about a male element. Radačovský has incorporated the male dancers to the choreography purposely, in connection with Michelangelo’s orientation and with a reference to the relationships he experienced. However, it is all easier in the end. It is about the illustration of physical capability, speed and precision. About the attributes Michelangelo loved.
