For the first time, Szabolcs Brickner, Gabriella Létay Kiss, Constantin Trinks, and Gergely Madaras will take part in the Opera House’s festive programme. The series, running from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday, will feature Bach’s St Matthew Passion, Wagner’s Parsifal, and Mascagni’s Cavalleria rusticana at the Ybl Palace on Andrássy Avenue.
Tobias Kratzer’s spectacular production of Fidelio, originally created for London’s Covent Garden in 2020, premieres at the Hungarian State Opera on 18 April 2026. In the double cast of the production, the leading roles are performed by Sinéad Campbell Wallace and Jamez McCorkle, Szilvia Rálik and István Kovácsházi, as well as Krisztián Cser and Károly Szemerédy. The ensembles of the Hungarian State Opera are conducted by principal guest conductor Péter Halász.
Two brilliant young artists of the international opera scene, Aigul Akhmetshina and Long Long will appear in a joint aria and song recital at the Opera House on 22 March 2026. The evening features performers already celebrated in leading roles on the major opera stages of New York, London and Berlin, with Jonathan Papp accompanying them on the piano.
