Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov to perform Puccini highlights
Popular excerpts from La Bohème, Manon Lescaut, Madama Butterfly, Tosca, and Turandot will be performed at Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov's aria recital on 23 March 2025. "Like Braveheart with machine guns" – Hungarian State Opera prepares for a new Macbeth production
The Hungarian State Opera will present Verdi's Macbeth on 22 February 2025, starring George Gagnidze, star of the New York Metropolitan Opera and Mihály Kálmándy in the title role, alongside Csilla Boross and Szilvia Rálik as Lady Macbeth. Cosmic music and aristocratic elegance at the Opera House's special English concert
The symphonic concert of the Hungarian State Opera Orchestra on 2 February 2025 offers a selection from the finest English musical traditions and delights for film (music) enthusiasts. In addition to Holst's grandiose The Planets, the programme includes Elgar's Cello Concerto, and Britten's Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Purcell. The concert, part of the OPERA’s Anglophone Season, is conducted by David Coleman, who has also composed a festive overture titled Celebremus for the occasion.
