The Royal Box is located in the middle of the grand circle, seating people of importance, and is reserved for the three most important Hungarian heads of state and their guests, but even actual royalty has enjoyed performances from here.

At the two accompanying so-called guards’ boxes neighbouring the twolevel royal box, Gyula Donáth’s allegorical statues of the Tenor, the Soprano, the Alto, and the Bass singers can be found. To complement these, four statues of the four virtues, i.e. Prudence, Courage, Temperance, and Justice, adorn the boxes that close the horseshoe shape. In 2024, the OPERA launched the charitable sale of its Royal Box, offering the best possible view of performances for ten guests. The space also features a foyer suitable for private catering, and it can be connected to the adjacent guards’ box on the right, which can accommodate six guests. We offer it in various packages, in some cases together with the Red Parlour – the revenue is managed separately by the institution and is used to implement family and children’s programs.
