He began his career as a member of the Choir of the Opera House. After graduating from Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music – where he studied with Zsolt Bende –, he became a soloist in the Pécs National Theatre in 1984 and in the Opera House in 1989. Besides a number of character roles (Erkel: Bánk bán – Petur bán, Mascagni: Cavalleria rusticana – Alfio, Mussorgsky: Boris Godunov – Varlam, Puccini: Madama Butterfly – Bonzo, Rossini: Cinderella – Don Magnifico, Verdi: Don Carlos – The Grand Inquisitor, Wagner: Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg – Kothner) he has also sung main roles including Scarpia (Tosca), Iago (Otello), Wotan (Das Rheingold), Klingsor (Parsifal). He has appeared as a guest singer in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Iceland, Japan and Thailand.
