Lajos Geiger was born in Budapest. In 2008, he graduated from the opera course at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music after studying under Sándor Sólyom-Nagy, Balázs Kovalik and Ádám Medveczky, and went on to study on the Opera's scholarship between 2008 and 2010. He has participated in master classes run by numerous world-renowned artists, including Renato Bruson, Éva Marton and Yevgeny Nesterenko. He made his debut at the Opera House in 2007, while still a student, in the role of Orest's tutor in the revival of Richard Strauss's Elektra. In the spring of 2008 he won the Second International Ferenc Erkel Aria Competition, and afterwards received an invitation to Madrid to help represent Hungary at the celebration of the European Union there. Apart from the Opera House, he regularly sings in various locations around Hungary and abroad.
