Klári Pataky earned her degree in choreography from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 2003 after studying under Antal Fodor. Her work has received numerous awards and recognitions: she has twice received the audience award at the Duo Dance Festival (in 2003, for To Either Approach or Look... and in 2004, for The Yellowed Leaf is Falling...), with the former choreography also winning the grand prize there. The has received a special prize at the Veszprém Dance Festival three times (in 2004, 2005 and 2010). In 2008, her choreography I'm doing really well, please don't contact me! won the Rudolf Lábán Award. In 2014 she won the Zoltán Imre choreography award, after winning the Viktor Fülöp Dance Scholarship in both 2004 and 2005. She has been creating independent choreographies since 2003, with her work being shown and acclaimed in several international festivals (Olomouc, Timișoara, Warsaw, Gdansk and Vienna) and choreography competitions (Hannover and the Canary Islands). In Budapest, she has debuted at the Trafo, Merlin, Tivoli and MU theatres, as well as at the Átrium Film Theatre, and in recent years her premieres have found a home at the Bethlen Square Theatre. She has been engaged as a choreographer in Eger, Szolnok and Debrecen, as well as several times at the Budapest University of Theatre and Film Arts. Her first choreography at the Opera House was for the 2005 world premiere of Levente Gyöngyösi's work The Stork Caliph, and she later worked on the opera The Telephone in 2013.
