On 8 January 2021, two young talents, brother and sister András Kiss and Anna Kissjudit presented their favourite arias in the Masquerade programme streamed from the Sándor Hevesi Stage of the Eiffel Art Studios from 8:00 p.m. on Facebook and Origo.hu.
Mezzo-soprano Anna Kissjudit started her vocal studies under Olga Szilágyi, and obtained her degree at the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in 2020 as a student of Katalin Halmai and Imola Pogány. She has won several prizes at Hungarian and international singing competitions. In recent years, audiences have had the chance to see her at the Budapest Spring Festival, the International Saitn Gellert Festival and the Budapest Wagner Days. In 2019, she made her debut at the Erkel Theatre as La Cieca in La Gioconda by Ponchielli. From the 2020/21 season, she has been a member of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden opera stuido in Berlin. She has won scholarships from the Liz Mohn Foundation for Culture and Music and the Oper in Berlin. As a scholar of the Budapest Wagner Society, she has been given the opportunity to take part at the Bayreuther Festspiele in 2021.
Like his sister, bass-baritone András Kiss started his vocal studies in 2004 under Olga Szilágyi, and later continued his studies in Szeged as a student of Mária Temesi. Between 2005 and 2008 he won the grand prize at the Northern Hungary Singing Competition in Balassagyarmat three times in the art song category and once in the opera category. He has made successful appearances in the National and International József Simándy Singing Competition, and has also been a finalist at Verona’s La bohème competition. In the autumn of 2014, he made his debut at the Hungarian State Opera in Ernő Dohnányi’s comic opera The Tenor.
