On 7 November 2020, Chamber Singer Attila Fekete, renowned for his performances of heldentenor roles presented a selection of his favourite arias in the Masquerade series from 8:00 p.m., streamed live on Facebook and Origo.hu.
Attila Fekete made his debut at the Hungarian State Opera in 1997, while still a student, singing the role of Parpignol in Puccini's La bohème, and shortly afterwards he already sang Rodolfo. During his career of more than two decades he has performed the greatest heldentenor roles in operas by Puccini, Verdi, Wagner and Gounod, but he is an acclaimed interpreter of works by Hungarian composers such as Erkel, Kodály, Dohnányi, Petrovics and Vajda. He has also made his name overseas, as he appeared on stages in Detroit, Toronto and at Carnegie Hall in New York. In 2006, he was presented with the Ferenc Liszt Award, the Opera named him Chamber Singer for the 2013/14 season, and his achievements were awarded with the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary in 2020. In his aria recital, he performed pieces by Donizetti, Verdi and Erkel. One of his guests was soprano Kinga Kriszta, the surprise guest Diána Kiss was revealed during the show. The programme directed by Katalin Kovács was hosted by Melitta Gyüdi, featuring on the piano was Kálmán Szennai.
