The ensembles of the Opera will participate in a special show during lockdown: every Friday, at 8 p.m., the programme entitled Terzet-Trio-Trois gives the chance to the Opera Chrous (chorus master: Gábor Csiki) to sing choral pieces, the Opera Orchestra (general music director: Balázs Kocsár) to play chamber concerts, and the Hungarian National Ballet (artistic director: Tamás Solymosi) to perform solo choreographies or pas de deux.
The 90-minute show is a great opportunity for the artists to prove themselves as soloists. In the first installment of the series, artists of the Opera Chrous performed Two Duets (Duett aus Psalm 95. and Duett aus Athalia) by Mendelssohn-Bartholdy as well as provided a selection from Brahms' Liebeslieder-Walzer (Op. 52) and Neue Liebeslieder-Walzer cycles. Featuring chrous members Katalin Töreky, Mónika Németh, Györgyi Murár, Szilvia Szőnyi, András Takács, Sándor Bartus, Éva Hamar, Viktória Avedikian and Péter Balás accompanied on the piano by Krisztina Andrássy-Neuenstein and Katalin Szirtes.
Musicians of the Opera Orchestra (Anikó Ecseki – violin I, Géza Szajkó – violin II, Veronika Botos – viola, Domonkos Nagy – cello, and Péter Boldoghy Kummert – double bass) performed excerpts from String Quintet in A major, Op 39. by Glazunov, whereas Ildikó Rönkös and Dénes Karasszon selected pieces from Inventions by Bach and 44 Duos for Two Violins by Bartók – transcribed for cello.
Soloists of the Hungarian National Ballet showed their talent in both classical and modern repertoire. Lili Felméry and Gergő Ármin Balázsi danced the white swan's pas de deux choreographed by Rudi van Dantzig for the production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake played by Başak Dilara Özdemir Lakatos on the piano. Drifting was a recent piece created by ballet master Edit Rujsz especially for the dancers Aliya Tanykpayeva and Dmitry Timofeev to music by György Lázár.
