Young Australian-Hungarian soprano Audrey Gábor was born in Sydney, where she completed her university studies and received a double degree of a Bachelor of Music in classical voice combined with a Bachelor of Arts in theatre and performance in 2011. She continued on to study at the University of Sydney and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music's Opera Studio under the tutelage of Maree Ryan AM, chair of the Vocal and Opera Studies Unit, and completed an Advanced Diploma of Opera at the end of 2014. In 2012, she sang the role of Mercédès in Bizet's Carmen in a gala concert version at the Sydney Opera House. Her operatic roles include Susanna (Mozart: Le Nozze di Figaro), Laetitia (Menotti: The Old Maid and the Thief), Amore (Gluck: Orfeo ed Euridice), Berta (Rossini: Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Beth (Adamo: Little Women), Juno (Offenbach: Orphée aux enfers), La Paix (Campra: Tancrède) and Ernestine Hill (Boyd: Daisy Bates at Ooldea). She was a recipient of the Hilda Mulligan M.B.E Singing Scholarship for Operatic Soprano (2012-2014) and a two-time beneficiary of the Helpmann Family Fellowship for young artists. In 2015 she relocated to Hungary, and since then has performed as a soloist for the Szolnok, Alba Regia and Művész symphony orchestras. She also regularly performs as part of the Operavisit Mini-concerts at the Hungarian State Opera House. In autumn of 2016 she will sing her first Mimì (Puccini: La bohème) with the Művész Symphony Orchestra. In the 2016/17 season, Audrey makes her Hungarian State Opera debut in Two Women, a vocal work by Samu Gryllus.
