He studied music privately. He sang in the choir of the Honvéd Ensemble from 1975 to 1982. He was a soloist of the Szeged National Theatre until 1989 when he signed a contract as a soloist of the Opera House. Besides many minor roles he has sung the main roles of the Italian and German repertoire: Wozzeck, Tonio (Leoncavallo: Pagliacci), Jochanaan (R. Strauss: Salome), Wotan (Wagner: Der Ring des Nibelungen). He has appeared as a guest singer in Austria, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands on many occasions.
