Melitta Gyüdi was born in Szeged, Hungary. In her childhood, she sang in a choir, was part of a folk dancing ensemble, and learned to play the piano. After graduating from a bilingual French high school, she earned a BA degree in International Studies from the University of Szeged, then completed a Master's degree in European Law at Lyon University, and completed the courses of Cultural Heritage Studies MA from the Faculty of Humanities in Szeged. Between 2018-2020, she was a fellow of the European Music Council's Fellowship Program. She worked as a program manager for the Armel Opera Festival in Budapest, Szeged, Avignon, Paris, Rouen, Barcelona, and England. Since November 2014, she has been the protocol officer of the Hungarian State Opera, and from spring 2017, the chief protocol officer. In this role, she organizes and manages the visits of high-ranking domestic and foreign guests to the Opera House, assists in the administration of awards, jubilee celebrations, maintains relations with the ’Eternal Members’, and also organizes the institution's sponsorship and fundraising activities. Since spring 2018, she has been hosting the opera house's gala performances: she was the hostess of the Hungarian Gala during the company's tour in New York, hosted the aria evenings of Éva Marton, Jonas Kaufmann, Plácido Domingo, Fabio Sartori, Patricia Petibon, and Lawrence Brownlee, and the official opening ceremony of the Eiffel Workshop House, as well as the reopening gala of the Opera House. Since autumn 2019, she has been the host of the cultural magazine "Opera Café" on the M5 cultural channel. In 2023, she received the Hungarian Bronze Cross of Merit.
