Julia Lezhneva's international career began with a bang when she caused a sensation at the Classical Brit Awards in London's Royal Albert Hall in 2010 with Rossini's "Fra il padre". In 2019, the Russian soprano made her debuts with the Berlin Philharmonic and at the Musikverein Vienna to great acclaim. In 2020, her debut with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra followed, and in January 2023 she returned to the Salzburg Mozart Week, where she sang Zerlina in Don Giovanni. She is a regular guest at the Hamburg State Opera and the Bayreuth Baroque Festival.
Various orchestras from all over the world invite Julia Lezhneva again and again, and she regularly works with renowned conductors such as Adam Fischer, Giovanni Antonini, Herbert Blomstedt, Paavo Järvi, Vladimir Jurowski and Andrea Marcon. Julia Lezhneva is a welcome guest at the Salzburg Festival, the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Schwetzingen Festival and the Lucerne Festival.
She has released several CDs with a focus on baroque repertoire and was awarded the prestigious German music prize OPUS Klassik 2018 for her latest solo album with arias by Carl Heinrich Graun; 2023 features Julia Lezhneva in new recordings of Porpora's "Carlo il Calvo" and "Il Polifemo". She regularly gives recitals. Her repertoire includes songs and arias by Italian, Russian, English and German composers from Baroque to Bel Canto.
