Attila Kozma was born in Pécs in 1962 and was educated at the Pécs High School of the Arts between 1978 and 1982, studying under Theodóra Uhrik. A member of the National Theatre of Szeged during the 1982/83 season, he went on to dance with the National Theatre of Miskolc in 1983, where he became the head of the Dance Department in 2012.
He also appeared at the Rock Theatre and with the Hungarian Festival Ballet, and during with the mid-'80s also appeared in the then East Germany.
He was the choreographer for the Miskolc Opera Festival's “Street Dance” project and was also the co-organiser for some years of Miskolc's 24-hour dance marathons. He also founded the theatrical dance department at the Szemere Bertalan High School in Miskolc.
He has created more than 70 choreographies in Hungary, Transylvania and Slovakia for ballets (such as Black Noise, Divertimento Mortále and Katica Térszili), operas (including Nabucco, Turandot, The Stork Calif and L'elisir d'amore), operettas (Die lustige Witwe and Die Csárdásfürstin) and musicals (Chicago).
