Budapest-born Boglárka Laczák earned her degree in voice from the Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music in 2007 after studying under Boldizsár Keönch. In that same year, she took third prize at the Second International Oratorio Competition, and later on, in 2016, was honoured as the “young opera singer of the season” by the Szeged Society of Friends of the Opera. Previously, in 2008 and 2009, she won the Annie Fischer Scholarship for performing artists, and took part in master classes with Éva Marton, Ilona Tokody, Adrienn Csengery and Nicholas Clapton. Her debut at the National Theatre of Szeged came during the 2010/11 season, when she took the stage as Olga in Onegin. She has worked with such conductors as Ádám Medveczky, Tamás Pál, Mátyás Antal, Gergely Kesselyák, Helmut Rilling, Roni Porat, Max Frey and Hans Schamberger. A partial list of the roles she has sung in Szeged includes Smaragdi (in Zandonai's Francesca da Rimini), Princess Elzire (Liszt's Don Sanche), Bersi (Andrea Chénier), Kate (Madama Butterfly), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Annina (La traviata), Federica (Luisa Miller), Tisbe (La Cenerentola), Third Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Azucena (Il trovatore) and Gertrude (Bánk bán).
