Attila Major was born in Mezőtúr in 1989, and commenced his music studies with Sarolta Kolarovszki at the Béla Bartók High School of the Arts in Békéscsaba. In 2013, he was admitted to the University of Szeged's Faculty of Music, studying under István Andrejcsik. He has actively participated in master classes held by Andrea Rost, Viktória Vizin and Johannes von Duisburg. The year 2016 brought him two special prizes in Category I at the Ninth International József Simándy Singing Competition (one from the Szeged Society of Friends of the Opera, and the other established by Zsófia Kálnay for a promising talent in the bachelor's programme) and his Hungarian State Opera debut as the Carter in Sly. He also portrayed the Royal Officer in Bánk bán at the National Theatre of Szeged, with Tamás Pál conducting.
