Sabine Blickenstorfer

Born in Zurich, Sabine Blickenstorfer studied 1990-1993 fashion design at the State University of Design in Basel. 1999 she won the Federal Award of Design. Already during her studies she was assisting costume designers at the Schiller Theater Berlin, the Berliner Ensemble, the Vienna Burgtheater and the Zurich Opera House among others. Since 1997 Sabine Blickenstorfer works as a freelance costume designer for theater- and opera-productions. She works with directors like Corinna von Rad, Lorenzo Fioroni, Enrico Luebbe, Ludger Engels, Roland Schwab and Alexander von Pfeil. Her creations in the field of costume design led her to many important stages in Germany and abroad: among others to the Staatsoper Unter den Linden and the German Opera Berlin, the Hungarian State Opera, L'Opéra de Strasbourg, and the theaters Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Mannheim, Zurich, Basel and Munich Residenz Theater.
