Tamás Szalma graduated from Budapest's University of Theatre and Film Arts in 1981 and first signed with the National Theatre of Szeged. He went on to join the Hevesi Sándor Theatre in Zalaegerszeg in 1982, then the Csiky Gergely Theatre in Kaposvár in 1986 and the Csokonai National Theatre of Debrecen in 2003, but later returned to the National Theatre of Szeged. He has been a member of Veszprém's Petőfi Theatre since 2003. He has been presented with the Jászai Award and the Latinovits Award for his work.
