Born in the Transylvanian community of Székelykeresztúr (Cristuru Secuiesc), Zsejke Székely graduated from the Gheorghe Dima Music Academy in Kolozsvár (Cluj-Napoca) in 1999, and has performed in numerous classical and contemporary operas, operettas and singspiels since then.
Her principal roles from the classical repertoire include Norina (Don Pasquale), Despinetta (Così fan tutte), Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro), the Second Boy (Die Zauberflöte), Serpetta (La finta giardiniera), Annina (La traviata), Inez (Il trovatore), the Composer/Second Nymph (Ariadne auf Naxos), Micäela (Carmen), Mátyás (Hunyadi László), Marcellina (Fidelio) and Barbara (Schubert: Die Verschworenen).
Her roles in contemporary operas have included Sylvie (Lajtha: The Blue Hat), Lena (Vajda: Leonce and Lena), Jutka Perzsi (Orbán: Prince Pikkó), the Second Servant (Gyöngyösi: The Stork Calif), Pamprine (Kőmíves: The Mute Gardener), as well as the soprano solo in Francis Poulenc's La voix humaine. Her repertoire of operettas and singspiels is also quite broad and includes Marie Louise (Háry János), Countess Stasi (The Gypsy Queen), Riquette (Victoria and her Hussar), Daisy Parker (Ball at the Savoy), Marcsa/Stéfánia (Miska the Magnate), Clarisse (Baroness Lili), Panni (Lieutenant Mary), Éduska (Palko Csinom), Maxi/Carolina Schlumberger (The Circus Princess). Her symphonic repertoire includes Zoltán Kodály's Te Deum and György Selmeczi's Sunday School.
