Péter Tóth was born in 1962 in Szeged, where in 1985 he began vocal studies with Mrs Pál Szél at the Ferenc Liszt Music School. His music school training won him a place in the chorus of the National Theatre of Szeged in 1993. In addition to his work at the theatre, he was also a private student of opera singer Kálmán Gyimesi. In 2014, he earned a degree in voice and music from the Juhász Gyula Teacher Training College in Szeged. He received the National Theatre of Szeged award of choral excellence in 2008. In recent member he has debuted in both major and minor roles in productions by the Szeged opera department, including in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, King Pomádé's New Clothes, The Merry Widow and La traviata.
